A Woman's Guide to Her Inner Seasons
The Wise Womb Wheel:
Woman’s Health & Changing Seasons
The Wise Womb Wheel offers a glimpse into the way we explore women's health at Casa Curativa: through cycles, plant allies, and the changing seasons of a woman's life. Across these pages, you'll meet eight archetypes that map the many phases of womanhood, discover the herbs and organ systems associated with each, and begin to see how the rhythms of the body, the natural world, and a lifetime of change weave together.

Inside Wise Womb Way, we take these explorations much further, spending time learning about women’s health through herbal medicine, body literacy, and the changing seasons of womanhood.
Deepen your understanding of the menstrual cycle and reproductive health, study herbal allies and their applications, explore the Women’s Wheel of Life, and develop practical skills for working with plants to support women through different phases and transitions of life.
Reclaiming knowledge of our bodies is an act of remembering, resistance, and self-determination. A way of restoring what was taken from us and carrying that wisdom forward for the generations to come.
Meet Ashley, Casa Curativa’s Director of Education…
Dear sister,
Somewhere along the way, we were taught to distrust our bodies.
To see our cycles as inconvenient. To treat the changes that come with age as problems. To hand over our authority to systems that have spent centuries separating women from their own knowing.
And yet, our bodies are constantly communicating with us. The plants have so much to teach us about listening.
I’ve spent years working with women through the many thresholds of life: menstruation, conception, birth, postpartum, and the transitions that reshape us along the way. Again and again, I’ve witnessed what becomes possible when a woman has the knowledge, language, and support to understand what’s happening in her own body.
This is part of why we created the Wise Womb Wheel.
It offers a way to explore the different seasons of womanhood through eight archetypes, herbal allies, and the organ systems that shape our experience. It invites us to look at women’s health in context: our physiology, our relationships, our environments, and the larger cycles of the living world.
For me, this work is deeply personal, but it is also political. Who gets to hold knowledge about our bodies? Whose wisdom has been dismissed? What might change when we learn from one another, reclaim our curiosity, and take our experiences seriously?
I believe we need spaces where women can ask questions, share what they know, learn from the plants, and develop a relationship with their bodies that belongs to them.
That is the spirit behind the Wise Womb Wheel, and it’s the spirit we bring to our teaching at Casa Curativa.
I hope this guide sparks something in you. A question you’ve never thought to ask. A plant you feel curious about. A new understanding of the season you’re moving through.
Let it be a beginning.
With love,
Ashley McDonnel
