Class Description:
Moon Rhythms: Physiology and Herbalism for Our Cycling Years
Our bodies are intelligent, cyclical ecosystems, nested in broader ecosystems. In this two-hour class, we'll explore the physiology of the ovarian hormone cycle, the major players in ovulation, how the flow of estrogen and progesterone impact our health, and some of the common patterns of ovulatory dysfunction. Students will also learn about herbal allies that tend and support our cycles, and will take away simple remedies and useful resources for deeper learning.
Teacher Bio:
Krystina Derrickson is a community midwife and fertility practitioner interested in the wisdom of the body, the rhythm of women's lives, and the sacred work of becoming. Her work centers fertility, nourishment, preconception, birth, and postpartum care, bringing together clinical knowledge and a holistic understanding of reproductive wellbeing. She offers home birth midwifery care in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and fertility, preconception, and cycle support globally.
